Wildcat Pride: Teacher Edition!

Richmond Hill High School loves to recognize the hard work of its teachers. Each week, a teacher is selected by their peers to win the weekly Wildcat Award! Each week's winner gets to proudly display "The Wildcat" in their classrooms.

This week's winner is Mr. Bohannon! The teacher who nominated Mr. Bohannon had this to say: "For this week’s nomination, and after much consideration, I nominate Chuck Bohannon.  Chuck is new to RHHS, but his impact is already considerable. He is dedicated to his calling, building excellent relationships with students, and his rapport with colleagues is excellent. Despite a health scare earlier this semester, Chuck kept going, with diligence. He also recently took on the Science Olympiad, a challenging endeavor.

RHHS graduate Cory Maddox is now an educator and taught with Chuck for years. Cory states, “Thank you. It’s a simple but meaningful phrase that people in the profession of teaching just don’t hear often enough. When you meet Chuck Bohannon, a gifted science teacher. He’s likely to thank you for taking the time speak with him. Teachers don’t just teach children. They help prepare kids for the road ahead in life. Chuck Bohannon loves science and exploring the world around him. In short, Chuck loves to play in the dirt. Chuck prepares his students by teaching them how to test the inevitable hypotheses of life. He teaches as all great teachers do. He teaches with the subtext that the world is the actual classroom of life. And then he prepares his students to be ready for that challenge and find substantive answers.”

Many of Chuck’s colleagues believe that he is only beginning to make his mark at RHHS.”

Thank you, Mr. Bohannon, for all you do for RHHS!

Go Wildcats!
